Grimes School students make candles

Fragrances wafted through the classroom at Grimes School as students tried different combinations to create homemade candles. Shynae Davis, founder of Honey Notes LLC, visited Grimes on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, and conducted a candle-making workshop for seventh grade students.

Second grade students in Nikysha Copeland Bey’s class at Grimes School presented museum display projects for their Native American unit on Thursday, November 30, 2023. The displays modeled the several regions across the country that Native Americans lived in.

Students and staff at Grimes School received a special and informative presentation on Hispanic Heritage Month by their peers on Thursday, November 16, 2023. The show had various aspects to inform the audience about Hispanic culture such as carnival dancing, poetry in English and Spanish, and more.

Parents came out to Grimes School to meet their students' teachers and were greeted with live music from a drummer and guitarist. Grimes School held their back to school meet and greet on Tuesday, September 19, 2023.

Grimes School welcomed families to a Back to School Orientation on Tuesday, August 29, 2023. Parents and students were able to meet staff, receive school supply lists and learn day-to-day procedures.

On June 8, 2023, Grimes School English as a New Language (ENL) teacher Pamela Bergins' 4th, 5th and 6th grade ENL students had the opportunity to meet the author of the book they have been reading for the past few months.
