Grimes School receives donation from Mike's Auto Repair Shop

Grimes School transformed their hallways into the streets of Manhattan for their inaugural Balloons Over S. 10 Parade! Inspired by the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, students and staff throughout the school pranced down the halls as they smiled and waved to their peers. Check out photos from the day here! 

Mike's Tire & Auto Repair Shop came to Grimes School to drop off another donation last week – this time, turkeys for students to take home for Thanksgiving! Thank you, Mike's, for supporting our students!

Grimes Elementary School students enjoyed an inspiring Career Day filled with professionals, community leaders, business people and first responders who shared real-world stories that showed the children how many paths they can pursue.

Grimes School continues to collaborate with Mike's Tire & Auto Repair Shop in Mount Vernon, as they recently received a donation from the autobody shop towards books and supplies. The school is deeply appreciative of this continuous partnership. In honor of Veterans Day, first-grade students at Grimes School received a visit from an ex-serviceman this morning, who read to them and answered their questions about the holiday. 

Congratulations to Amin Shabazz and Jaxon Reilly for being selected as Students of the Month at Grimes School! Amin, who was recognized as  Student of the Month for October, has shown tremendous growth and improvement, demonstrating dedication and excellence across all core subjects. Jaxon, who was recognized as Student of the Month for September, consistently demonstrates outstanding effort, a positive attitude and a commitment to excellence. Keep up the great work, Amin and Jaxon!

Grimes School inaugural “Welcome to Fall Extravaganza” was an unforgettable success and a vibrant celebration of the season! With colorful decorations, festive displays, and activity stations throughout the room, the space radiated autumn joy.

Students in Kimberly Slone's fourth grade class at Grimes School spent the week leading up to Halloween writing their own spooky stories. They began by writing out their ideas and used green paper to create a greenscreen background. Students then recorded themselves telling their stories on their iPads.
